Hello
It is with great regret that I deliver some unfortunate news.
One of our very favorite flying friends left this world yesterday.
Brett Pendleton passed away due to a skiing accident on Jan. 24 2007.
Our thoughts shift quickly to his wife Shawna and his children Sadie and Brittany who are thankfully surrounded by friends and family during this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts...
It goes without saying that Brett was an excellent role model in every aspect: he was a great family man, a upstanding member of our flying community a very competitive masters ski racer and a world champion of sky diving accuracy. He was an electrical lineman and an active member of his church.
Few of us can claim as many hours on the hill whether hiking, skiing or flying. Bret was truly driven and was simply an amazing man in every perceptible way.
We will all look forward to celebrating Brett in the coming weeks. Please collect your favorite pictures and memories as we will certainly find a way to share them.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to a friend during this difficult time.
Sadly,
Chris

I'm saddened to hear of our tremendous loss. Brett Pendelton was a great guy and a really good friend. His talent was only exceeded by his humility and genuine smile. I'm going to miss him dearly. He just was a pleasure to be around.
My heart goes out to Shawna, Sadie, Brittney, and the Salt Lake flying community.
Here are just a couple of photos:

I was crushed and sadden to hear about our dear friend, Brett. Shawna and the girls must be heartbroken, and so little except their Faith, prayers and time will make it any easier for them, or for us. On Tuesday night, I emailed a friend in CT. about another mutual friend who died suddenly last Saturday. A song, "One of these days" from FFH came to mind then. It's a song Scotty Marion first turned me on to. Undoubtedly, Scotty is probably pretty adept at flying without a wing by now. I'll pray he shows Brett his new home site and that the pain and grief of his sudden flight, passes quickly for everyone that Brett loved and loved him. Until we make another run, another circle, we will miss you Brett, so very much.
Peace be with you,
Lou
One of these days I'm gonna fly
Over the mountain
One of these days I'm gonna ride
On the silver lining
One of these days I'm gonna witness
All I've been missing
One of these days
One of these days I'm gonna do
All the things that I've never done
I'm gonna finish all the races
That I've run but I've never won
And I'm gonna see a million faces
And recognize everyone
One of these days
Chours:
One of these days
Gonna see the hand that took the nails from me
One of these days
Gonna hold the key to the mansion built for me
One of these days
Gonna walk the streets of gold that were paved for me
One of these days
I'm gonna see my Savior face to face
One of these days
One of these days I'm gonna say
Just what became of me
On the day that I believed
When you took myself from me
And I believe I will say
What I would have been
If You didn't save me
One of these days
And one of these days I'm gonna talk
With all the saints that have gone before
And in their sandals I will walk
And we will sit upon the shore
And I will learn all the things
That I never knew before
All this and more
One of these days I'll finally be
In a place where there's no more need
No more pain and no more grief
No more foolish disbelief
And all the joy there will be
When at last we finally see
One of these days
